November Stronger Together Award Recipient: Mrs. Regina McGuire

Regina teaches in our district's Valle program. Through her guidance, compassion, and teaching practices, students are learning how to learn, speak, and listen in both English and Spanish. She is also guiding students to become accountable, respectful, and responsible for their actions. Regina goes above and beyond to make sure all students are getting what they need and are meeting or approaching their grade-level standards. All of these factors are preparing students for future grades and for becoming thriving citizens.

Regina approaches teaching using various learning styles to make sure all students are getting what they need. This may include providing instruction in either language, using graphic organizers, presenting and showcasing anchor charts, and providing visuals around her classroom. Her learning environment is vibrant, ensuring that students are respectful and have opportunities to showcase what they know. Regina makes sure students have a good grasp on what they are learning and focuses more on mastery than simply trying to get through the curriculum.

Regina shows commitment to this district and our community as a whole by teaching in our Valle program and taking leadership roles during collaborative team meetings, staff meetings, and professional development. She also coaches on top of teaching and makes sure that she is excelling in both of these areas. During meetings, Regina makes sure all voices are heard and that the team is working in an efficient manner. She goes above and beyond for her students as well as the staff members she works with and supports. Regina is not afraid to ask difficult questions and advocate for herself when she doesn't know something.

Our district is so lucky to have Mrs. McGuire as a teacher, coach, advocate, and team member. She exceeds all of Arcadia's core values. Regina has created long-lasting, positive relationships with students and is able to get students to respond to her when they are having a difficult time. No matter the student's learning level or language level, Regina has high expectations for them to learn and exceed the Paw Pride expectations of being respectful, responsible, and safe. Mrs. McGuire is always participating and adding valuable content and questions to any meeting she is a part of. Regina is a model teacher and someone every teacher should strive to be.
