The second graders have been learning about the Westward Expansion. They learned about the Oregon Trail and the Trail of Tears.  The students also learned about the inventions of different kinds of transportation (covered wagons, steamboats, horses/The Pony Express, and locomotives).  They ended the unit by making their own covered wagon.
